Research on Brian Griffin with his portraiture photography. I really liked the way he used his hands in his photos to create shadows on the face and manipulating the photos.

Because I have been researching portrait photography I stumbled across Brian Griffin and i really liked his work. Not because it was purely just a portrait but because he created some manipulative effects with lighting which I really liked. Also the fact he also uses black and white photos. I had moved on with "normal" portraits (such as Halsman) and wanted to look at different ways of creating different effects with light. It reminded me of my other work that I had produced by using B setting on film and using a flash gun.
